Iran Press/ Middle East: The ceremony was attended by a significant number of influential people from Karbala, Babil, Baghdad, and Najaf provinces.
An Iranian artist, Fatemeh Ebadi, also showcased her art in the ceremony.
The Iraqi people marked the second martyrdom anniversary of General Soleimani, the commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), and Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) deputy head Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis.
The top anti-terror commanders were assassinated along with their companions in a US drone strike authorized by former President Donald Trump near Baghdad International Airport on January 3, 2020.
They were highly popular because of the key role they played in eliminating the ISIS terrorist group in the region, particularly in Iraq and Syria.
Two days after US' assassination operation, Iraqi lawmakers approved a bill, demanding the withdrawal of all foreign military forces led by Washington from the country.
