Iran envoy to Vienna Kazem Gharibabadi

Vienna (IP) – Iranian envoy to Vienna said nine days ago, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) was notified of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran's plan to produce a silicide fuel plate for use in the Tehran reactor; operational work concerning the plan began immediately.

Iran PressIran News: Kazem Gharibabadi noted that silicide fuel is a modern type of nuclear fuel whose technology is only available to a few countries.

Noting that research and development on natural uranium began about three months ago, he stated: "In the new process, a new fuel plate is produced using 20% enriched uranium."

He stressed: "Significantly improving the quality and quantity of radiopharmaceutical production, the measure would make the Islamic Republic of Iran one of the leading countries in the nuclear technology."
