Iran's Finance and Economic Affairs Minister Masoud Karbasian met with Russian presidential adviser on economic affairs in the session of 14th joint economic and commercial commission in Moscow.
Both sides exchange views on the issues of interest and bilateral corporation between Iran and Russia.
The 13th Iran-Russia Joint Economic Commission was held in Tehran in December 2016, It was chaired by Russia’s Energy Minister Alexander Novak.
The two countries signed a series of agreements that included the construction of four units of thermal power plants in Iran’s southern city of Bandar Abbas.
Iran-Russia trade, economic, political, scientific and educational relations have been growing in recent years.
The level of trade between Iran and Russia in 2016 stood at below $2 billion.
The two countries have been trying to double this in the near future.
With the arrangements being made, the legal ground is prepared for the conclusion of agreements and memorandum of understanding between Tehran and Moscow on areas of mutual interest.
The public and private sectors of both countries are also establishing links and contacts with each other.
Over the past few years, Russia has made its presence felt in investment projects in Iran, and Russian banks have also made it clear by signing financing agreements that they will fund the projects.
