Iran Press/ Middle East: Saudi Arabia, backed by the United States, the United Arab Emirates, and several other countries, has launched a military invasion of Yemen since March 2015.
137 human rights organizations and institutions said in a statement that the war of aggression against Yemen in front of the eyes of the world and the silence and passivism of the international community, led by the United Nations and its affiliates for fear of the suspension of financial aid to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates has been happening for the past seven years.
In the statement, human rights and civil society organizations called on the freedom-seeking men and women of the world and the human rights forces to push for an end to the war against Yemen, and called for an end to the war by the aggressors and an immediate end to the siege of Yemen, especially Al-Hudaidah port and international airport and called for permission for food, medicine, and medical equipment and fuel to enter the country.
The statement from Arab human rights organizations called on all Yemeni parties to sit down at the UN-led, Yemeni-Yemeni negotiating table on the date and place agreed upon by the United Nations to resolve the crisis in the country.
The organizations also called for the formation of an international human rights coalition to prosecute those involved in war crimes and crimes against humanity in Yemen.
UN agencies, including World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF, have repeatedly warned that the Yemeni people are facing famine and a humanitarian catastrophe that is unprecedented in the last century, as attacks continue.
