1000 Iraqi employee were fired due to corruption

Iraq's Supreme Anti-Corruption Council announced dismissing thousand of employees accused of committing public integrity crimes.

Iran Press/Middle East: The Council dismissed the corrupted employees after a meeting with Iraq's Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi on Thursday.

The dismissal comes while thousands of Iraqi people have taken to the streets in capital Baghdad and other major cities since Tuesday, demanding fight against corruption, improving services and increasing employment, France 24 reported.

Some protesters, who are apparently seeking nothing but chaos, have tried to turn the protests into violence through vandalism.

In a statement on Thursday, the Iraqi Prime Minister's Office said that Adel Abdul Mahdi is in contact with representatives of the protesters to consider their legitimate demands.

Evidence suggests that foreigners are involved in organizing and coordinating the protests. The vast majority of tweets -- 79% in fact -- about Iraqi Protests come from Saudi Arabia.
