Many Iranians have welcomed the Supreme Leader's naming of Persian New Year as the "Year of Support for Iranian Products"

Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in his annual speech for the Iranian New Year named 1397 as "The Year of Support for Iranian Products", stressing that many economic issues would be resolved through "national production".

Ayatollah Khamenei highlighted the country’s main concern as the issue of the economy and the problems surrounding the nation’s livelihood. He stressed that “the pivotal point is national production.”

“If national production is accelerated, many problems will be resolved,” he added.

Iran Press News Agency interviewed some Iranians to ask their opinion on buying domestic products versus foreign products. Most of the people interviewed, expressed their desire in buying domestically-produced goods.

A Young Iranian, who was interviewed in the city of Isfahan, located in the center of Iran, said he is determined to buy Iranian products because there are many Iranian products that have higher quality than that of foreign ones.

" If we buy Iranian products, Iranian workers will benefit from it. When the Iranian worker is financially supported, then the livelihood of average Iranians will improve", said a young Iranian man.

"We generally buy Iranian goods . . . if we buy Iranian products, it will be much better for our economy", said another Iranian.

"If we consume our products, it would be much better. The result is that some youth would be able to make a living. If high-quality Iranian-made goods are produced and bought by our people, it would be beneficial for us. It would be beneficial for every country in principle", said another Iranian, who was interviewed in the city of Isfahan.

" The higher the quality of the (domestic) products, the higher the rate of buying them by Iranians. The quality of products must be improved. My question is that why foreign products are imported to be consumed by Iranians. We desire to buy our products, but their quality must be improved", said an Iranian woman.
