All flights have been suspended in London’s Luton airport following the breakout of a significant fire in the airport’s Terminal 2 parking lot.

Luton Airport, located about 56 kilometres north of London, announced that all flights are currently suspended as emergency services respond to a car fire that has spread in Terminal Car Park 2.

Also, the East England Ambulance Service said on X that no casualties were reported, but one member of the public and six firefighters were affected by smoke inhalation.

At least 140 flights due to take off or land at the Bedfordshire airport have been cancelled since the fire started shortly before 9pm on Tuesday, with flights suspended until at least 3pm on Wednesday. 219
