Iran Press/Africa: Another 10 members of the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord’s (GNA) forces were wounded, their spokesman Mustafa Majae said, and the rival Libyan National Army (LNA) had taken control of “some military points” near Gharyan, some 90 km (56 miles) south of the capital.
The city’s council said Gharyan had been under attack from drone-propelled airstrikes since Sunday morning, Reuters reported.
Over 90,000 people have been displaced in Libya since April as a result of the armed conflict between Khalifa Haftar’s forces and UN-backed government forces in Tripoli, United Nations said on Friday.
The conflict began when the self-proclaimed Libyan National Army began its advance on the UN-recognized government in Tripoli on April 4.
