Israeli forces have shot and martyred a Palestinian minor during demonstrations in Gaza on Friday.

Iran PressMiddle East: Gaza Strip’s ministry of health identified the slain boy as 15-year-old Moussa Ali Abu Shlouf, adding that he was shot in the east of Jabaliya.

Moussa Abu Shlouf, 15, was shot in the stomach while participating in the Great March of Return.

The ministry also reported that 17 other Palestinians were wounded, including a volunteer paramedic who sustained a hand injury caused by a tear gas canister in the same area, Middle East Eye reported.

Palestinians are demonstrating for the 54th week running in Gaza as part of the Great March of Return, calling for an end to the crippling 11-year blockade on the small coastal enclave as well as the implementation of the right of return for Palestinian refugees whose families were displaced during the creation of the state of Israel.

The protest movement marked its one-year anniversary on 30 March. The Israeli army martyred four protesters that day, three of them minors.

More than 210 Palestinians have been martyred by Israeli forces in the context of the march, and another 16,650 have been wounded, according to the Gaza ministry of health.

The United Nations Human Rights Council announced last week that Israeli troops may have committed war crimes by using excessive force against the protests.105/201
