Iran's embassy in Baghdad started issuing free visas for Iraqis on Monday April 1.

Iran PressMiddle East: Free visa for Iraqi people has been issued since April 1, in Iran's embassy and Consulate Generals across Iraq.

An informed source at the embassy told IRNA that applying for visas is necessary for Iraqis, but they need not to pay any fee for it.

Iran and Iraq agreed to implement the free-visa plan during the recent visit by Iran's President Hassan Rouhani to Iraq in March.

It is a mutual agreement, meaning that Iranian visitors need to apply for visas for entering Iraq, but they do not have to pay for it.105/205
