Palestinian legislative council revokes Mahmoud Abbas legitimacy

The majority of the legislative council in Gaza on Wednesday revoked Mahmoud Abbas' legitimacy.

Iran Press/Middle East: The majority of the legislative council in Gaza approved on Wednesday the revocation of Head of the Palestinian Authority Chief Mahmoud Abbas' legitimacy in a direct response to his move of dissolving the parliament.

Gaza parliamentarians considered that Mahmoud Abbas has lost his political eligibility, demanding the Arab countries to restrict his actions in this regard, Al-Manar television network reported.

MP Khalil Al-Hayya stated that Mahmoud Abbas has been in office for 19 years although his legal term can be at maximum 8 years, adding that he destroyed the national unity and negatively affected the resistance.
