A drive-by shooting wounded Eleven Israelis at a bus stop near a Jewish settlement in the occupied West Bank, the Israeli military said.

Iran press/Middle East: Eleven Israelis were hospitalized after the attack near the Ofra settlement north of Al-Quds, the army said in a statement, according to AFP.

All the wounded were rushed to hospital, the army statement added.

Hamas said that the “armed struggle” against Israel will continue because it’s a “strategic option to safeguard the Palestinian cause and restore Palestinian national rights.”

In a statement on the occasion of the 31st anniversary of the eruption of the First Intifada, Hamas said that “Resistance was a legitimate right guaranteed by international laws and conventions.”

It  said, “31 years after the eruption of the uprising, which is also known as the stone intifada, Palestinians were still in need of unity, partnership and the reconstruction of their national project.”

The Palestinian government has no jurisdiction over Israelis in the occupied West Bank, and violent acts carried out by militant Israeli settlers often occur in the presence of Israeli military forces who never intervene to protect Palestinian residents.

In recent months, there has been a sharp rise in raids conducted by Israeli security forces in the West Bank.
