This was one of many similar attacks on Saudi border cities by the Houthi militias in response to the airstrikes by the Saudi-led coalition.

The Saudi-led coalition has intervened in Yemen's civil war since March 2015 to support Yemeni President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi, who was forced to exile by the Houthi rebels.

The coalition said Monday that the total number of missiles shot by the Houthis at Saudi Arabia has reached 197 so far.

Yemen’s defenseless people have been under massive attacks by the coalition led by the Saudi regime for over three years but Riyadh has reached none of its objectives in Yemen so far.

Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been launching deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to the fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

Nearly 14,000 Yemenis, including 5,000 women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.

The United Nations says a record 22.2 million Yemenis are in need of food aid, including 8.4 million threatened by severe hunger.
