ICT Minister: Iran knows how to confront and get round sanctions

Minister of Communications and Information Technology reiterated that Tehran and Beijing are on the same boat when it comes to confronting America's unilateralism and domination in the information and communications field.

Iran Press/Iran news: Iran's ICT minister, Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi in a meeting on Sunday with China's ambassador to Tehran, Chung Hua, referred to the excellent relations between Iran and China and called for expansion of cooperation between Tehran and Beijing particularly in information technology.

Azari Jahromi described China as one of Iran's most important business partners, particularly with regards to the digital economy, and also pointed to America's unilateralism.

The ICT Minister added: "Today the biggest computer companies in the world, whether in operating systems, computer networks,  infrastructure, and services are all American. Thus America's technology monopoly is of some concern."

Azari Jahromi went on to call for strategic cooperation between Tehran and Beijing in information and communications technology.

He added: "America's unfair and unjust sanctions have created some difficulties for us, but experience has taught us how to confront and bypass US sanctions. Many US presidents have come and gone in the past 40 years, but the Islamic Republic of Iran is continuing its chosen path with strength and authority."

For his part, the Chinese ambassador to Tehran referred to the excellent relations and solid and strong commercial ties between Tehran and Beijing and described the upcoming trip by Azari Jahromi to the World Economic Forum in Dalian China as very important.
