Iran press/Iran news: "The #B_Team's boy who cries wolf is crying once again: this time Mossad is fabricating intelligence about Iran's involvement in sabotage in Fujairah," Mohammad Javad Zarif said in a tweet on Wednesday.
"I've warned of accidents and false flags—we know what happens when you believe their lies. We've been here before, haven't we?" Iranian foreign minister added according to Iran Press.
Tensions in the region spiked after the four ships were damaged in a mysterious sabotage attack off the coast of the emirate of Fujairah on May 12.
Saudi Arabia said on Monday that two of its oil tankers were among those attacked off the coast of the United Arab Emirates.
Iran has called for the clarification of the exact dimensions of the incident the vigilance of regional states "in the face of any adventurism by foreign elements", and warned against "plots by ill-wishers to disrupt regional security".
Speaking at a news conference in Abu Dhabi on May 29, hawkish US national security adviser John Bolton claimed that the vessels were attacked using "naval mines almost certainly from Iran". Iran rejected the accusation, calling it "laughable".
"Bolton and all warmongers in Washington should be aware that Iran's strategic patience, its alertness and its full defensive awareness eliminated their plots to make chaos and instability in the region," Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Seyyed Abbas Mousavi reacted. 101/211
