Iran Press/Iran news: "Iran's smart policy has effectively shown the hypocritical behaviour of the US to world public opinion," Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi noted.
"After US withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Americans wanted to entrap Iran. They wanted Iran to play in their court in order to manage our behaviour," the head of AEOI stated according to Iran Press.
"Iran has shown strategic patience and it makes America's hypocritical policy useless," Salehi said.
"Under article 26 of the JCPOA agreement, whenever Iran realizes that the other parties have not stayed committed to their obligations, the country can suspend part of its commitment under the JCPOA in order to review the policy of the other parties," the head of AEOI added.
"Iran will no longer commit to the restrictions put on storage of enriched uranium and heavy water under the agreement," Salehi noted.
"Within 60 days, if they could satisfy Iran's needs, the country would do accordingly based on its open diplomacy," the head of AEOI said.
"But if they continue breaking their promises and would not stay committed to their obligations regarding the JCPOA, Iran would take other steps accordingly," Salehi said.
On May 08, Iran revealed countermeasures to US’ withdrawal from the nuclear deal, giving the five remaining parties to JCPOA 60 days before reducing parts of its commitments to the agreement.
The move came exactly a year to the day US President Donald Trump withdrew America from the accord. 101/211/201
