The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, has advised the Iranian nation on early morning prayers and worship during the Holy month of Ramadhan.

Iran Press/Iran news: The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has emphasized on the importance of early morning prayer and supplication for the Muslim nation in the blessed month of Ramadhan.

On Tuesday 30 April 2019, addressing religious scholars and seminary students Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei gave some advice on how best to use the opportunity of the blessed month of Ramadhan, with special emphasis on dawn prayer and worship.

The full text of the Leader's speech is as follows:

Dear friends! The blessed month of Ramadhan offers us an excellent opportunity, a very good opportunity. An opportunity to promote Islam, to explain Islam. An opportunity to get close to the people. An opportunity to assist the poor and the needy, and most important of all, an opportunity to pray, supplicate and worship the Almighty.

An opportunity to get close to God. It is an opportunity to fast (from dawn to dusk), and an opportunity to sit at the table of divine banquet and the table of God's mercy and blessings.

The divine banquet which is often talked about is really your fasting, the prayers that you perform is the divine banquet.

The deeds which need to be performed in the blessed month of Ramadhan are very many. For example the Shiite jurist, theologian, scholar and writer, Sayyed Ibn Tawus, mentions so many deeds, prayers, supplications, etc.  which need to be performed on each night of Ramadhan.  Many people simply don't understand the importance of these deeds and prayers, and I don't want to get into that here, but there are certain minimums not to be missed, and there are opportunities which we mustn't miss.

At the break of dawn in the blessed month of Ramadhan everyone gets up. We mustn't miss the opportunity of the dawn. This excellent opportunity. I have said it many times before that if we miss the opportunity to pray and supplicate at dawn, then in the busy world in which we live, in which hour of the day can we supplicate and pour our heart out to God. The break of dawn is an excellent opportunity for prayer, supplication and worship which we mustn't miss.

Of course, there are some people who are always in worship. When they are working, when they are moving, when they are engaged in technical, engineering and computer work, they are close to God and they supplicate and pray to God, almost all the time! The Holy Quran refers to them as "Those who pray incessantly, all the time". Some people are like that.

But for ordinary people, our opportunity for worship and getting close to God and praying to God is at the break of dawn. If we miss this opportunity at dawn, then we have lost an excellent time for prayer. May the Almighty protect you all and bless you all.104/211
