Pakistan Prime Minister who is visiting Iran, paid tribute to late Imam Khomeini.

Iran Press/Iran news: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan paid tribute to the founder of the Islamic Republic, late Imam Khomeini, on Monday night.

Visiting Imran Khan laid a wreath of flowers on the tomb of Imam Khomeini in southern Tehran, IRNA reported.

During the ceremony, grandson of Imam Khomeini Seyyed Hassan Khomeini was accompanying Imran Khan.
Imran Khan is visiting Tehran for the first time after his election as the Pakistani premier in August 2018.

The visit is taking place on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Iran-Pakistan relations.

Pakistan PM and his entourage also met with the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

In this meeting, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution regarded the relationship between the nations of Iran and Pakistan as deep and heartfelt and stressed that terrorist movements on Iran-Pakistan border seek to hurt the two countries' strong relations.

Prior to Tehran, Imran Khan was in the holy city of Mashhad on pilgrimage to the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS), the eighth Shia Imam.

President Hassan Rouhani officially welcomed the Pakistani prime minister on Monday and the two countries' high-ranking officials signed a number of cooperation documents.
