Iran Press/Iran news: Millions of Iranians have held ceremonies to celebrate the birth anniversary of Imam Mahdi, the 12th Shia Imam across Iran and in some Muslim countries. Huge celebrations are also underway in the holy city of Mashhad provincial center of Northeastern province of Khorasan Razavi, at the holy shrine of Imam Reza (peace be upon him), the eighth Shiite Imam.
According to an Iran Press report, Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi the Judiciary chief is the main speaker at the ceremony in Mashhad.
Mid-Sha’ban, which is the 15th of Sha’ban Month, is the birth anniversary of twelfth Shia Imam, Imam Mahdi (may God hasten his reappearance).
According to Shia beliefs, Imam Mahdi is the prophesied redeemer who will bring peace and justice to the world, and cleanse the world of all corruption.
