Iran Press/Iran news: Google has blocked the access of 'Iran Press' News Agency to its official account on YouTube and Gmail just three days after Iran Press, the first Iranian and Middle Eastern video news agency was officially opened on 16 April.
Google has also blocked Press TV's and Hispan TV's access to their official accounts on the technology company's platforms, including YouTube and Gmail, without prior notice, citing 'violation of policies', Iran Press reported.
This is not the first time that Google is blocking Press TV’s YouTube channels.
“Your Google Account was disabled and can’t be restored because it was used in a way that violates Google’s policies,” Google said in a message that appears after 'Iran Press' and other suspended Iranian television channels try to log on to their accounts.
The YouTube channels are open to public view for now, but the administrators cannot publish any new content.
Google has so far refused to provide any explanation for disabling the accounts.
The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) said a coordinated move to block its channels on social media platforms amounts to a clear example of censorship.
Iran Press News Agency has launched its satellite video broadcasting test 24 hours a day since last year on EUTELSAT 21B - 11520 frequency, which provides viewers with the latest live news reports and production reports.
Iran Press has also managed to promote its activities on the web with an Arabic-English bilingual website, as well as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, WhatsApp, Telegram and Soroush messengers.
Iran Press News Agency specialises in video on demand, supplying live video feeds mostly from Iran and the Middle East to the world's top media and news organizations. 104/205/203/211
