Iranian foreign minister and the UN special envoy in Iraq’s affairs discussed the latest developments in Iraq.

Iran Press/Iran news: UN special envoy in Iraq’s affairs, Janine Hines Plachkart who has traveled to Iran to hold talks with Iranian officials, met with Mohammad Javad Zarif at foreign ministry’s building on Monday.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the issues including the latest developments of Iraq and fighting against terrorism, Iran Press reported.

They also talked about the US move to blacklist the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) as well as the provocative and hate-inciting activities of certain regional states against Iran.

On 8 April, the US President Donald Trump accused Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps of alleged financing and promoting terrorism in the region, a baseless accusation which Iran categorically rejected and drew a fierce reaction from the global community.

Earlier, Iran's foreign minister had said that the possible listing of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps as a terrorist organization will be yet another catastrophe for the United States.105/207
