Senior IRGC commander says Trump labelling of IRGC as terrorist a futile move

Deputy Commander of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said US President's action against IRGC is futile and Trump can't do a damn thing.

Iran Press/Iran news: Brigadier General Hossein Salami addressed people in Hoveyzeh city in southern Khuzestan Province and said:  "I am honoured to be an IRGC fighter, and somebody like Donald Trump calls me a terrorist."

The top IRGC commander who has travelled to Hoveyzeh to supervise aid and rescue operations to flood-hit people in Khuzestan, reminded the audience of the sacrifices made by the people and martyrs of Khuzestan and Hoveyzeh in 8 years of sacred defence against the Baathist aggressor and said: "All IRGC forces follow the path of the martyrs of sacred defence who lost their lives defending their country," Iran Press reported.

General Salami pointed to brave young Iranian students who captured the  'US Den of Spies' in Tehran in November 1979 and specially the arrest of US Navy Marines on 12 January 2016 in Iranian waters in the Persian Gulf and said: "It seems that Trump forgot these incidents who threat IRGC forces."

Deputy Commander of IRGC at the end thanked and admired the people of flood-hit Khuzestan province, and vowed all military forces will participate in reconstruction of flood-ravaged regions.

On 8 April, US President Donald Trump accused Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps of alleged financing and promoting terrorism in the region, a baseless accusation which Iran categorically rejected and drew a fierce reaction from the global community.

On Jan 31, the deputy commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), Brigadier General Hossein Salami emphasized that Iran has grown amid all the threats and sanctions, finding its path through threats and hurdles.

He added: "The only thing which guarantees survival is being strong and powerful. You become a true expert, only through hard work and through gaining experience on the ground."
