The spokesman for the Iranian parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, Keyvan Khosravi, has emphasized that Donald Trump's decision to label IRGC a terrorist organization is impractical, unlikely to be implemented, and mainly serves a propaganda purpose.

Iran Press/Iran news: Speaking in a television interview on channel two of Iranian television on Monday night, Keyvan Khosravi reacted to the branding of the IRGC (Islamic Revolution Guard Corps) as a terrorist organization by saying that 'Trump's obsession with being first has taken him to the edge of insanity'.

In further comments, Khosravi said it is indeed ironic that the main sponsor and supporter of terrorism in the world, the US government, has decided to label one of the most successful anti-terrorist military forces in the globe, the IRGC, as 'a terrorist organization,' Iran Press reported.

Serious Reservations about Trump's Decision at CIA, Pentagon

The spokesman for the Iranian parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission also emphasized the serious reservations within the Trump administration itself, particularly within the Pentagon and the CIA, about the wisdom and repercussions of labeling the IRGC (Islamic Revolution Guard Corps) as a terrorist organization, arguing that there is serious opposition to this Trump decision, which means the decision may never be implemented.

Commenting on Iran's decision to designate the US military and the Trump administration a 'supporter of terrorism', Keyvan Khosravi said we have anticipated for a long time this US move and we have prepared an appropriate and commensurate response which will be implemented in due course.

US Military Forces Considered as Terrorists

Khosravi went on to warn the Trump administration by saying: "From today onwards, we consider US military forces and bases in the Middle East as terrorist operatives and terrorist bases, and any unusual move by them in this region will be assessed in exactly the same way that we would assess any terrorist move or action."

US President Donald Trump designated Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization on Monday 8 April 2019.

This is the first time Washington formally labeled another country's military a terrorist group.

The Islamic Revolution Guard Corps has a key role in fighting the US-backed terrorist groups in the middle east region.

The IRGC provides advice and assistance to fight the Takfiri terrorist groups in Iraq and Syria, following official requests from governments in Baghdad and Damascus, an action that is by no means appealing to the president of the United States, Donald Trump. 211/103
