Urmia (IP) - Situated between the mountains of West and East Azerbaijan, shrinking great Lake Urmia came back to life after heavy rainfall in last weeks and attracted many locals and tourist to spend end of Nowruz holidays called 'Sizdah Bedar' or 'Nature's Day'.

Iran Press/Iran news: Nature’s Day is the end day of the two-week Persian New Year holidays, which began on March 21 and finish on April 2, a special day for stay outside with family and relatives and enjoying green nature in first month of Spring.

Lake Urmia’s water level has increased by seven centimeters compared to the same period last year and water level of the Lake reached 1,270.24 meters on November 3.

Lake covers 1,661 sq. km of waterbed which indicates a 156 sq. km expansion on the same date of last year and the volume of water has increased by 89 million sq. meters, reaching nearly 1 billion sq. meters this year.105/205
