Iran Press/Iran news: In an interview with Iran press on Saturday, the head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), Ali Akbar Salehi emphasized that one of the greatest achievements of Iran's nuclear industry is that Iranian scientists and engineers have complete mastery over nuclear science and technology, and are now able to design and manufacture all the sensitive and sophisticated elements and components of a nuclear reactor.
Ali Akbar Salehi in the sideline of forty years' achievements of Islamic revolution and scared defense expo added: "The most important point is that Iranian scientists and experts now have full knowledge of nuclear science and technology, whereas in earlier years we used reverse engineering techniques to produce various nuclear components, for example centrifuges, but today our knowledge is so great that we can design and manufacture centrifuges domestically, without the need for reverse engineering."
Salehi went on to add: "We can design and manufacture inside Iran practically any component of a nuclear power station that we want, including advanced centrifuges. We can even design research nuclear reactors. We have no need for reverse engineering techniques anymore."
The head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, noted: "Iran has taken great steps in developing nuclear technology in all domains."
Salehi added: "We are entitled to do what is supposed to be good for our national interest, we do not care what others thinking about us. We feel that we are bound to our international commitments as we have expected or agreed with the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), so we work within the framework of the JCPOA and safeguards agreement, and we also work within the framework of additional protocol."
The head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran added: "We do all our activities within these frameworks that I just named and we do not accept any pressure."
Salehi said, we will do what is necessary for our national interest and we certainly are very sensitive to our sovereignty so the sovereignty of Iran is our criteria and this criteria is very important for us when making decisions.
