Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said his country's remaining in the 2015 multilateral nuclear agreement following the US’s withdrawal, isolated Americans.

Iran Press/Iran news: At the Iranian Parliament to respond to questions from lawmakers on Monday, Foreign Minister Zarif noted, the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) was in favor of Iran's interests but US has been continuing to violate the agreement.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohamamd Javad Zarif attended a Parliament’s session today to answer lawmakers’ questions on nuclear deal, among other issues, Iran Press reported.

Following his words, MPs were satisfied by speech of Zarif, voting 102 for and 71 against it.

Speaking at the session of parliament, Zarif defended the efforts of the negotiating team that led to the signing of the nuclear deal with the 5+1 in 2015, saying the agreement was the best course of action considering the country’s national interests, and the US’ decision to withdraw from it has put Washington in a complicated situation.

“We obtained enough guarantees, but the American regime left the agreement anyway, just as it has left thousands of other agreements,” he said.

The US government has no respect for international principles, said Zarif, rejecting any notion that the foreign ministry had entered negotiations with the US on the basis of trust.

Zarif further stressed that the US lack of commitment should not be blamed on the efforts of the Iranian team of nuclear negotiations.

Mohammad-Javad Koulivand, an MP and Head of Internal Affairs Commission of the Majlis, in an exclusive interview with Iran Press on Sunday January 6 said: "The US realized that the JCPOA strengthened Iran and has been to Iran's benefit. Certainly, if JCPOA weakened Iran, America would not have walked away from the nuclear deal."

On May 8, the US president pulled his country out of the JCPOA, which was achieved in Vienna in 2015 after years of negotiations among Iran and the 5+1 Group (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany).

Following the US exit from JCPOA, Iran and the remaining parties launched talks to save the accord. 101
