Iran Press/Iran news: January 21 is the birthday anniversary of prominent Iranian poet Abul-Qasem Ferdowsi and many people around the world, including Iranians, observe the day to pay tribute to this highly revered Persian poet.
Abul-Qasem Ferdowsi was born in 940 AD in a small village near Tous in Iran’s eastern Khorasan Razavi Province.
He is best known for his magnum opus, Shahnameh (Book of the Kings), which is a classic in epic Persian poetry and recounts Iran's mythical and historical past.
In this regard, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghassemi on Monday congratulated the birthday anniversary of prominent Iranian poet Ferdowsi.
His Shahnameh is a mythical masterpiece and epic that has been interwoven in Iranians' hearts through the ages. Shahnameh is the letter of love, Ghassemi wrote in a message on the occasion of the birthday anniversary of Ferdowsi.
Ferdowsi, in the loneliness and painful period of Iranian culture and history, went to war with corruption with his Shahnameh, the message added. 101/ 211 / 201
