Iran's foreign minister in a message on Thursday, assured to establish mutual cooperation between Iranian and Iraqi private sectors.

Iran Press/Iran news: Iran's foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a message on Thursday promised to find mutual cooperation in Iran-Iraq private sectors. 

“Honored to be in Najaf and Karbala: home of the Sacred Shrines. Moved by people's sentiments. As brave Iranian youth stood with Iraqi brothers in fight against extremist terror, our private sectors will stand together in mutually beneficial endeavors to improve the lives of all,” Zarif tweeted on Thursday.

Earlier, referring to his travel to the Iraqi cities which started on January 13, Zarif said: “We are brothers', and his visit to Iraq which as he noted has been the longest he paid to a country indicated the two nations' willingness to have special relations, reported IRNA.

He further described his trip to the Iraqi cities of Baghdad, Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, Karbala and Najaf and his meetings with the Iraqi officials as “good.”

“I confidently say that Iran-Iraq cooperation has a bright future,” Zarif added.

 

On the Same day, Iranian Foreign Minister, in reaction to US Secretary of States' remarks in Iraq said, long before US came into existence, Iran and Iraq had friendly relations and this good neighbourly relations are set to continue.

Top officials from Iran and Iraq held talks on Thursday 11 Jan. 2019 on ways to boost cooperation between the two neighbouring countries, just one day after a surprise visit by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to Iraq, which was supposed to convince Baghdad to restrict its ties with Tehran.
