Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Bahram Ghassemi announced that Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif is scheduled to pay an official visit to Iraq on Sunday.

Iran Press/Iran news: Senior managers of several Iranian state and private firms, top businessmen and entrepreneurs will also accompany Zarif on the trip to Iraq, Ghassemi said.

According to IRNA report, holding talks with high-ranking Iraqi officials, taking part in Iran-Iraq joint trade conference in Karbala and Sulaymaniyah are also on Zarif's itinerary.

Zangeneh arrived in Baghdad on Thursday January 10,  at the head of a delegation.

On Jan 11, 2019, Iraqi President Barham Salih in a meeting with Iran’s oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh in Baghdad reiterated that promoting Tehran-Baghdad relations will benefit regional security and stability.

During the meeting, the two men also discussed ways of boosting bilateral ties in different fields, particularly in the oil and gas sector.   105/ 211 / 210
