Saeed Mohammadzadeh, the head of Islamic Republic of Iran Railways, has said foreign investors who wish to invest in Iranian railways, will be given guarantees about their investment.

Iran news: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press on Sunday, the head of Iran's national railway network, Saeed Mohammadzadeh said: "An important point about railway transportation is a collection of legal packages which the Iranian Parliament has approved in connection with the national railway network. These are common laws."

He also added that there are some points worth discussing about these laws.

The head of Islamic Republic of Iran Railways said: "First of all, investment in railway transportation is similar to investment in lesser-developed regions of the country. Secondly, this legislation has a number of built-in incentives to attract investors. For example, low interest finance, and a period for repayment of the loan which is suitable for both foreign and domestic investors."

"The legislation which has been passed by the parliament (Majlis) has allowed us to provide foreign investors with guarantees. And also the legislation allows both domestic and foreign investors to be exempt from providing certain letters of guarantee in many instances," he added. 211/204
