Iran Press/Iran News: Head of Iran's Foreign Policy Strategic Council Seyed Kamal Kharrazi said that Europe needs to live up to its' commitments over the implementation of Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), and lack of commitment of Europe in this respect can lead to instability in the region, Mehr News Agency reported.
Head of Iran's Foreign Policy Strategic Council made the remark in a meeting with former French Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin at the venue of the Embassy of Iran in France on Nov. 12.
The two sides discussed regional issues, relationship between Iran and Europe, US policies in international arena and today’s situation of Europe in the world.
In this meeting, former French Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin pointed to Yemen war and said, “suitable ways have been paved for terminating war in Yemen, so that effective steps should be taken to stop murdering Yemenis by Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates (UAE).”
On Nov 09, the European parliament has called on all parties involved in the war in Yemen to attend negotiations to end the war in Yemen.
Also the participants at a peace summit in Paris, urged all Yemeni sides to end the fighting.
Participants in Paris summit also stressed that all European countries should call for an end to fighting in Yemen.

Turning to the US policies, de Villepin said: “US government is seeking unilateralism and destroying the organizations which were formed after the World War II. In the same direction, creating a deep gap between East and West Europe is one of the malicious objectives of the US government.”
Today, the world is in a very complicated and complex situation which requires new initiatives, he said, adding, “the situation in the Middle East region has been aggravated and new alliances are on the verge of formation.”
It is very likely that the Middle East region will face a critical crisis in the next two years due to the time of approaching US Presidential Election, he said, adding, “therefore, those countries which are seeking stability in the region need to be vigilant.”
For his part, Head of Iran's Foreign Policy Strategic Council Seyed Kamal Kharrazi pointed to the regional issue especially US pullout from Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and said, “under such circumstances, it is essential that Europe should live up to its commitments within JCPOA.
Europe’s compliance with JCPOA is a good indication of whether Europe can be trusted by Iran or not, he observed.
Kharrazi once again emphasized that lack of Europe’s commitments over JCPOA will lead to instability in the region.
Saudi Arabia, with the support of the United States, the United Arab Emirates and several other countries, has been launching deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to the fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.
Nearly 14,000 Yemenis, including 5,000 women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign since March 2015.
Saudi Arabia has been using the precision-guided weapons provided by Washington to strike civilian targets in Yemen.
The military aggression of Saudi Arabia has also resulted in severe food and medicine shortages in Yemen -- one of the poorest countries of the Arab World. 105/201
