Iranian sports squad won one gold, one silver, and two bronze medals in the first day of 2018 Asian Para Games.

Iran PressIran news:  Iranian club thrower Younes Seifipour won the gold medal in F32 class where Omani and Kuwaiti representatives ranked second and third, respectively. 

According to Iran press, Iranian athletes Behzad Azizi and Erfan Hosseini ended as first and second runner-ups respectively in javelin throw F12/13 class. The Uzbek representative won the gold medal. 

In long jump, Zahra Bernaki won the bronze medal of T45/46/47 class.

Iranian recurve archer advanced to the quarterfinals by defeating Mongolian and Cambodian representatives.

Iran is represented by 209 athletes in the Asian Para Games, with 136 men and 73 women competing in 13 disciplines.

A total of 2,880 athletes from 41 countries compete in 18 sports in the event in Jakarta on October 6th-13th.

Iran finished in fourth place in the past two editions in Guangzhou (2010) and Incheon (2014).

The 2018 Asian Para Games are being held from October 6th to 13th at the Bung Karno Sports Complex in the capital city of Jakarta, Indonesia.
