Iran Press - The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, called for increased readiness and preparedness of the personnel of Khatam-ol-Anbia Air Defense Base, saying it plays a vital role in confronting the enemies of the Islamic Republic.
In this meeting which was held on the occasion of the national day of air defense, Ayatollah Khamenei said political calculations tell us a military war is very unlikely, but nonetheless, the armed forces must be vigilant and alert, as well as efficient and agile, and they must update and improve their military hardware, weapons and personnel capabilities on a day-to-day basis.
Brigadier General Alireza Sabahifard, the top commander of Khatam ol-Anbia air defense base, presented a brief report and outline of the future plans of the air defense base.
The Islamic Republic of Iran Khatam al-Anbia Air Defense Base was formerly a branch of the Iranian Air Force (IRIAF ), but currently is part of the Iranian Army, with overall responsibility for Iran's military land-based air defense.
