According to Iran's Director of Maritime and Ports Office of Bandar Lengeh port Qasem Askarinasab , non-oil exports from this port has increased by 34 percent in comparison with the same period of the preceding year.

He told reporters that in this period of time (since March 21 to July 2018) 331,654 tons non-oil goods, including fruits, vegetables, nuts, mineral and construction materials were exported from the port.

In the same period 30,000 tons non-oil goods imported to this port, which shows 56 percent decrease compared with the same period of past year.

Askarinasab added that 3,338,592 tons of different types of goods were loaded and unloaded in Hormuzgan province.

Non-oil goods transit volume in Bandar Lengeh reached 88,691 tons in this period of time, which indicated 31 percent increase and the third rank in the country.

He said in preceding years by implementing development plan in the port as well as offering custom discounts and trans-shipment motives for loading and unloading work for containers increased by 11 percent.

Bandar Lengeh is located 240 kilometers west of Bandar Abbas and is one of the main ports in western Hormuzgan.
