Ali Larijani made the remarks on Sunday in a meeting with Andreas Schieder, head of foreign policy committee of Austria's parliament. He also described Iran-Austria relations as well-established and productive, adding that Tehran-Vienna relations have been positive over the past few years.
Emphasizing the importance of the parliamentary ties between Tehran and Vienna, Larijani said, 'Currently, Iran attaches great importance to boosting ties with Austria, as the European country was among the first to engage with Iran following the signing of the nuclear deal (in 2015).'
The Austrian lawmaker, for his part, described bilateral ties as growing, enhanced by the visits of Iranian officials to Vienna.
Austria, as a member of the European Union, believes that saving the nuclear deal is not dependent on America's approval; therefore it will make effort to implement it thoroughly, he said.
There have been good arrangements on strengthening relations and implementation of economic and cultural ties, he said.
