Iranian deaf freestyle wrestlers took the first place in world wrestling championship in Russia by winning five gold, one silver and two bronze medals.

According to the Deaf Sports Federation of Iran, Mohammad Siavoshi (57kg), Hossein Nouri (70kg), Hossein Darikvand (74kg), Mohsen Manouchehri (86kg) and Mohammad-Rasoul Qamarpour (92kg) snatched gold medals and Keivan Rostamabadi (61kg) won the silver medal.

Saied Younesi (79kg) and Akbar Saberi (97kg) won bronze medals.

Turkish and Russian deaf freestyle wrestlers ranked second and third respectively in this round of world championships held in Vladimir, Russian Federation. 

Six Iranian wrestlers have won the ticket to the final matches of the 5th World Deaf Senior Freestyle Wrestling Championships held in Vladimir, Russia.

The competition have started in both Greco-Roman and Freestyle from June 11 and will end on June 19.

Earlier, Iranian deaf Greco Roman wrestlers took the third place in the competitions by winning four silver and three bronze medals, IRNA reported on June 15.
