Defense minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami said on Friday that the Americans had better fulfill commitments under the JCPOA to help establish peace and security in the world, otherwise it will be detrimental to global peace and stability.

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a ceremony marking ‘National Day of Resistance and Stability, Day of Dezful’, he added, “We should be self-reliant in terms of security and economy. But we have signed a deal whereby we and others undertook commitments.”

“We as a nation fulfilled all our commitments and expect the others to do the same. But the Americans started violating the letter and spirit of the JCPOA and others should compensate it,” he said.

“We will continue walking the road to resistance and the future is certainly ours, as we are a noble nation and will remain so under every condition,” Hatami said.

Addressing the ceremony marking ‘National Day of Resistance and Stability, Day of Dezful’, he also condemned America's unilateral withdrawal from the JCPOA, saying the US disloyalty rendered it disgraceful.

Noting that enemies of the Iranian nation, especially the US, want to impose restrictions on the Iranian nation but such a disloyalty made the US contemptible and untrustworthy in the eyes of the world.
