"If the people of the world and the region had known about the reality of Iranian society, Iranophobia would end", the IRIB chief said.

"In that condition, they would know that Iranian people on one hand are Pacifist and on the other hand are brave and ready to defend their country", Ali-Asgari noted after the inauguration ceremony of launching iFilm2 TV channel  on Saturday.

"IFilm2 is a belt connecting the region’s Persian-speaking countries and nations,” Ali-Asgari concluded.

The IRIB chief said it was hoped that the channel serves as a barrier against the Western cultural inroad into the region.

The inauguration ceremony took place on Saturday in the presence of Abdol-Ali Ali-Asgari, the head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), and Peyman Jebelli, the head of the IRIB’s World Service, as well as Mahdi Mojtahed, iFilm director.
