The Russian president emphasized that Iran has the most transparent nuclear program in the world, urging Tehran not to withdraw from the the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Iran Press/Europe: Vladimir Putin at a joint press conference with َAustrian president Alexander Van der Bellen, said, "I personally talked to the Director General of International Atomic Energy Agency on Iran and he told me that Iran is committed to its nuclear obligations."

Referring to speculations about Iran's likely withdrawal from the nuclear deal known as the Joint comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the Russian president also said, "I have repeatedly told Iranian friends that in my opinion it is more rational that Iran remains in the nuclear deal, because if Iran withdraws from the deal, everyone will forget that the very United States has begun demolishing the deal, and ultimately everybody will blame Iran," Iran Press reported.

On May 8, 2018, US president Donald Trump, unilaterally withdrew from the international agreement and violated the commitments made by Washington.

The Trump action has faced widespread domestic and international condemnation.213
