New Yemeni Ambassador to Iran met with Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif here in Tehran on Sunday to submit a copy of his credentials to him.

Iran Press/Middle East: On August 17, Ibrahim Mohammad Mohammad al-Deilami was appointed as the new Yemeni plenipotentiary ambassador to Tehran by National Salvation Government of Yemen.

Al-Dulaimi was present at a recent meeting of the Yemeni delegation with the Leader of the Islamic Revolution  Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, Iran Press reported.

Ansarullah Movement Leader Abdulmalek al-Houthi made a speech on August 18, emphasizing that Yemen is keen on re-establishing diplomatic ties with Iran.

Pointing to the Islamic Republic of Iran's main policy of engaging with regional countries such as Yemen, Iraq and Syria, he said, "Iran never dictates its policies in interaction with other countries."

The Houthi leader reiterated that Sana’a will improve ties with Tehran as they are based on common grounds, especially the support for the Palestinian issue, and confrontation with the Israeli regime, noting that Iran is 'an idol' in respectful engagement with Yemen and supporting the Palestinian resistance.
