The Zionist regime began demolishing dozens of Palestinian homes in east Al-Quds on Monday, in a large-scale operation that has drawn criticism from the international community.

Iran Press/Middle East: The United Nations and the European Union have both criticised the move, with the UN's humanitarian coordinator Jamie McGoldrick saying the demolitions were "not compatible" with international law and had "even greater significance, as many other homes and structures now risk the same fate".

The Zionist regime claims the proximity of the homes to the wall represents a security risk, and the buildings were built illegally, but many Palestinians and critics argue the demolitions are part of a broader policy of forced displacement aimed at cementing Israel’s control over east Al-Quds, reported Iran press.

The move was also slammed by the Amnesty International which condemned the Zionist Regime. The body called it as the obvious breach of the international law.

The Zionist regime occupied the West Bank and east Al-Quds in the 1967 Arab-Israeli war, and the international community considers both areas to be occupied territory. 203/211/217
