Iran Press/ Iran news: Iranian Health Minister Saeed Namaki at the ceremony of sending health convoy to Iraq, thanked all of those who are ready to serve Imam Hussein pilgrims.
"I respect all those who are ready to serve Imam Hussein pilgrims. We have mobilized all our capabilities to make this year's event even more beautiful and glorious than previous years," he expressed.
Millions of pilgrims are preparing to converge on the Iraqi holy cities of Najaf and Karbala to attend Arbaeen mourning processions, marking the fortieth day after the martyrdom of their third Imam, Hussein ibn Ali (PBUH).
Arbaeen, which is one of the largest religious gatherings in the world, comes 40 days after Ashura, the martyrdom anniversary of the third Shia Imam, Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) every year in which a huge crowd of Shia's flocks to the Iraqi city of Karbala, where the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (PBUH) is located, to perform mourning rites.
Every year Shia Muslims from across the globe converge on Iraq to commemorate Arba'een. Pilgrims travel miles on foot to reach the shrine of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) in Karbala.
