Iran, Cuba are ready to increase medical cooperation

An official in the Ministry of Health and Medical Education of Iran expressed the country's readiness to export medical equipment to Cuba.

Iran PressIran News: Deputy Minister of Food and Drug of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education, Mohammad Reza Shanehsar during a meeting with a delegation from Cuba, referred to Iran's ability to produce medicine and medical equipment and said: "Tehran is ready to transfer technology and export medical equipment to Cuba."

According to Iran Press, in his meeting with Director-General of the Cuban Drug Regulatory and Medical Devices Organization and the accompanying delegation in Tehran on Tuesday, Shanehsar stated: "Cuba possesses knowledge and technology, especially in the field of biotechnology, and Cuban specialists can manufacture valuable equipment alongside Iranian experts." 

The Director General of Medical Supplies and Equipment Affairs of Food and Drug Organization (FDO) Seyed Hossein Safavi also referred to the Cuban side's readiness to use medical equipment made in Iran and said, "An agreement on cooperation in the field of technical and regulatory exchanges and technology transfer of medical equipment made in Iran and Cuba has been signed. By implementing this agreement, the  production boom will be achieved and we can export Iran-made medical equipment to Cuba and from Cuba to Latin America."

Currently, 105 Iranian medical equipment and supplies are exported to 55 countries in the world.
