EU roles as useless member of JCPOA: MP says

A member of Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission has said the Europeans' threat of a possible exit from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) should not be taken seriously since they are not influential members of the agreement.

Iran Press/Iran news: In response to EU threats of withdrawing from the Iran nuclear agreement, Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh in an interview with ISNA said: "The agreement (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action JCPOA) had three sides; the Islamic Republic of Iran, Russia, and China, and the United States. That means the Europeans were a neutral and useless player within JCPOA, who tried to implement its plans to please Iran, but they must apparently first get permission from the US Treasury Department to carry out their plans. These actions day by day highlighted the half-hearted nature of European participation within JCPOA. Now they re trying to play in the US court with Boris Johnson's role-playing."

"Europeans have not fulfilled their commitments, but when they say they may be forced to withdraw from the deal, it means that they are going to do the last job that the US obliged them to do," he said.
