Zahedan (IP) - The Minister of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism has said Iran's tourism industry is growing at a rapid pace.

Iran Press/Iran News: The National conference of Tourism was held in Zahedan, a city in Sistan and Baluchestan Province, in southeast Iran. The event was attended by Iran's Minister of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism, Ali Asghar Mounesan.

During the conference, Mounesan said: "The role of Tourism industry in creating jobs and boosting the local economy is of great importance."

This year it was decided to hold the ceremony marking international day of Tourism in a city other than Tehran, and in the end the city of Zahedan the provincial centre of Sistan and Baluchestan province was chosen to promote tourism in this region of Iran.

Referring to the fact that according to government statistics, one out of every ten jobs would be related to Tourism Industry, Iran's Minister of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism concluded that investment is needed to raise Iran' s modest share of global tourism.
