President Hassan Rouhani departed Tehran for New York on Monday, to attend the United Nations General Assembly meeting.

Iran PressIran News: President Rouhani left Tehran on Monday to attend the United Nations General Assembly meeting (UNGA) in New York, Iran Press reported.

The Iranian president will present a peace initiative at the General Assembly.

Delivering a speech at the UN General Assembly, meeting world leaders from Asia, Europe, Latin America and Africa, as well as UN Secretary-General, are some of President Rouhanis' plans during his visit to New York.

So far Rouhani's meetings with leaders of Iraq, Pakistan, Japan, France, Britain, Sweden, Switzerland, and Spain has been finalised. He will also meet some US media executives, journalists, and foreign policy elites.

President Rouhani is going to leave New York for Tehran on Thursday evening.
