Governor of the Central Bank of Iran said on Friday that the so-called new round of sanctions imposed on the bank by the US government shows how empty-handed is the White House in finding leverage against Iran.

Iran Press/Iran news: Abdolnaser Hemmati said on Friday evening that if such measures could have been effective in pushing the cruel desires of the US government, Iran's economy would have been in a very different situation.

"The repeated failures of the US government over the past two years indicate that the sanctions on Iran have become ineffective more than ever, spurring economic resilience instead," Hemmati added.

Hemmati added: "Market stability shows that fortunately the country's trade and financial transactions are done in ways that are non sanctionable by the United States."

"It is fortunate that we have left behind the period of bypassing sanctions and have already entered to the era of resilient foreign trade, and it is time for the US government to accept the facts," Hemmati said.
