Iran press/Iran news: "After the Korean War in the 1950s, at the time Korea was a very poor country, we got developed through the international communities support which we never forget," said South Korea ambassador to Iran Ryu Jeong Hyun on Tuesday at the sideline of the 'Forum on Improving the Livelihood of Afghan Refugees' in an exclusive interview with Iran Press.
"That's why we want to pay back the international community for their support now that our economy is flourishing," he added.
He noted to Sout Korea's plan for participating and supporting Improving the refugee's livelihood program in Iran as well as United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) also United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) for supporting Afghans refugees.
He highlighted that Seul uses this opportunity to appreciate the Iranian government for hosting and helping the Afghan refugees.
Explaining Seul's program for helping refugees, he added: "First of all, we support refugees from neighboring countries with their livelihood and their needed humanitarian assist," the Korean ambassador said, adding: "And then we empower them in their children education"
He also mentioned that Seul is to collaborate and cooperate with UN agencies too. 203/208
