Rasht (IP) - The Gilan Rural Heritage Museum is an open-air museum that is devoted to showcasing the rural life of the northern part of Iran.

Iran Press/ Iran news: The Gilan Rural Heritage Museum witch covers an area of 260 hectares, is located in 'Saravan' forest park, in Rasht, the center of Gilan province, in the north of Iran.

This museum's mission is to revitalize many local customs and traditions of the people of this northern province of Iran.

Being the only one of its kind in the west and central Asia, the museum educates visitors about the real-life, culture, and customs of the people of northern Iran.

The age of the many buildings in the museum goes back to 150 years ago, or even more.

The Gilan Rural Heritage Museum is the first Eco-museum in Iran, and it attracts many tourists from home and abroad.
