Tasua in Khorramabad

Khorramabad (IP) - Tasu'a mourning ceremony is being held in Khorramabad, a city and provincial centre of Lorestan Province in Iran.

Iran Press/Iran newsTasu'a is the ninth day of Muharram and the day before Ashura.

This day is devoted to Abbas ibn Ali, Imam Hussein's half-brother, because of his bravery in the battle of Karbala. 

Shia Muslims hold ceremonies every year in the month of Muharram to mourn the martyrdom anniversary of Chief of Martyrs, Imam Hussein (PBUH) and his faithful companions.

The third Shia Imam, Imam Hussein (PBUH), and 72 of his faithful family members and companions were martyred on the Day of Ashura in the year 680 AD.  205/211/218
